Trama vs Harvest: Plan the work, track the time, send the invoice.
Harvest is a time tracker with reports, expenses and invoicing. Trama is a workspace for small teams where the boards and documents you plan in are also where time is tracked and invoices are made, with clients paying by card or Pix. Here is where they differ, with Harvest's side taken from Harvest's own pages.

Choose Trama if…
- You want the work and the billing in one place: the boards and documents your team plans in are where time is tracked and invoices are made.
- You bill clients in Brazil: invoices in reais carry a Pix QR to your own key, and Trama itself is priced in reais and paid by Pix.
- You’d rather pay per workspace than per seat, with the first members included and viewers free.
- You want AI agents to log time, draft invoices from tracked time and record payments over MCP (48 tools, with scopes you approve).
- Invoices, documents and AI agents are on every plan, Free included.

The same questions for both. Trama's column lists what it does today; where we couldn't confirm something about Harvest on its own pages, the row leaves it out rather than guess.

Moving from Harvest
Trama has no Harvest importer, so moving is a short project rather than a button. Most teams start new work in Trama, bring the time they still need to bill, and leave past invoices and reports in Harvest.
Set up the workspace and your rates
Sign in with your e-mail and your first workspace is ready. In Workspace settings → Hourly rates, set the default rate, then the rates that differ per client, board or person.Make a board per client or project
Each board gets its own columns and members. Invite the team by e-mail; people who only need to look are viewers, and viewers are free.Connect how you get paid
In Workspace settings → Get paid, connect your Stripe account for card payments and save your Pix key for invoices in reais.Bring the time you still need to bill
Harvest exports timesheets to CSV and has a REST API. Trama’s API adds time to a task with POST /boards/{board_id}/tasks/{task_id}/time_entries (a start, the seconds, a note and, for board admins, the person). For a short list, the weekly timesheet is quicker: open Time in the sidebar and type the hours into each task’s day.
The API guide covers tokens and time entries (POST /boards/{board_id}/tasks/{task_id}/time_entries); the MCP guide covers connecting an agent that can log time and draft invoices for you.
Questions
Is Trama a Harvest alternative?
For small teams that want to plan the work, track time on it and invoice clients in one place, yes, especially when clients pay in reais by Pix. Harvest is a dedicated time tracker with expenses, approvals, detailed reports, native apps and many more integrations; if you rely on those, Harvest does more.
Does Trama track time like Harvest?
Trama has a timer on every task and time entries per person, with a duration, a day and a note, from the timer or added by hand. Everyone has a weekly timesheet to add and fix time, and admins get time reports (by board, person, task, client or billed status, with a CSV export). It has no approvals.
Can I invoice tracked time in Trama?
Yes. In an invoice, “Add tracked time” picks a board or milestone, a period and people, and turns their unbilled time into lines priced by your hourly rates (per client, board, person or the workspace default). When the invoice is marked sent, that time is billed and locked.
How do clients pay a Trama invoice?
Each invoice can have a pay link. The client pays by card in Stripe Checkout on the workspace’s own Stripe account, and the invoice turns paid by itself; for invoices in reais the page also shows a Pix QR code and copy-paste code for your own key, and you mark the invoice paid once the money arrives. Trama adds no fee of its own today; Stripe’s fees apply.
Does Trama track expenses?
No. You can add a cost to an invoice as a line, but there are no expense records or receipts. Harvest tracks expenses on every plan.
How does Trama’s pricing compare with Harvest’s?
Harvest charges per seat in US dollars, and bills extra invoices, projects, clients and tasks by use beyond its base rate. Trama is free for one person and a collaborator, and its paid plans have one price per workspace that includes the first members, plus a price per extra member, in reais in Brazil or dollars elsewhere. Viewers are free. Invoices are on every Trama plan, with a monthly limit on Free.
Can AI agents work with time and invoices in Trama?
Yes. Trama’s MCP server has 48 tools, including logging time on a task, listing tracked time, creating an invoice from tracked time, marking it sent and recording a payment. Invoice tools are granted only to workspace admins, after you approve the scopes in the browser.
Does Trama have desktop and mobile apps?
Trama runs in the browser on desktop and phone, and can be added to the home screen or dock. Harvest offers apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, and browser extensions.
